For many years the UK Centre for Materials Education has been working within the academic community to enhance the quality of teaching and learning in Materials Science. As part of its work the Centre provides. The Collaborative Open Resource Environment (CORE) project aims to make a significant number of the many existing Materials electronic learning resources freely available on-line. The project is funded by the JISC / Higher Education Academy Open Educational Resources programme, and is a collaboration between 20 educational and professional partners across the Materials community. The project will harvest the best learning resources from the project partners; it will catalogue them to enable searchability; and it will distribute them for open-use through a range of on-line tools. This talk will outline the progress made to date and explore plans for the future.
